Common questions
XPEL PPF
Can I install XPEL PPF myself?
While it is possible to do yourself, we highly recommend having it professionally installed to ensure proper adhesion. There will also be no warranty unless installed by a professional.
How long will XPEL PPF last?
With the right care, XPEL PPF can hold up for as long as 10 years. How long it actually lasts depends on how the vehicle’s used, the conditions it’s exposed to, and whether it’s maintained properly. Keep it clean, avoid harsh chemicals, and it’ll keep doing its job for the long haul.
Can XPEL PPF be applied to chrome, aluminium or brushed metals?
Yes, XPEL Paint Protection Film works on chrome, aluminum, and brushed metal surfaces. It helps guard against scratches, chips, and everyday wear. Keep in mind—standard PPF can add a bit of shine, so if you're working with a brushed or matte finish, we usually recommend using XPEL STEALTH for a more natural look.
What is the best method of washing XPEL PPF?
You can, but it’s not always the best idea. High-quality PPF is tough, but those automatic car washes with aggressive brushes can wear it down over time. For the best long-term results, stick to hand washing or use a touchless car wash. It’ll keep the film looking cleaner and lasting longer.
Does XPEL PPF hide scratches?
PPF won’t fix deep damage, but it can help hide or soften the look of light surface scratches. Plus, once it’s on, it protects your paint from getting more.
XPEL Windshield protection film
What is XPEL Windshield Protection Film (WPF)?
It’s a clear, tough layer that goes over your windshield to protect it from rocks, road debris, UV rays, and everyday wear. It works like a shield taking the hit so your actual glass doesn’t. It also helps cut down on chips and cracks, and keeps your visibility sharp.
Is it worth it to get WPF?
If you’ve ever had to replace a windshield, you know it’s not cheap. XPEL Windshield Protection Film helps you avoid that by taking the hit from rocks and road debris before your glass does. It’s a smart way to save money, protect your view, and avoid the hassle of unexpected repairs.
What does the warranty cover?
Yes! XPEL’s Windshield Protection Film comes with a 1-year or 12,000-mile warranty. It covers things like peeling, cracking, yellowing, bubbling, hazing, and delamination. Just keep in mind: rock chips aren’t covered, since the film’s job is to take that kind of damage so your glass doesn’t.
How clear is the film?
From the driver’s seat, it’s crystal clear. XPEL Windshield Protection Film doesn’t block your view or distort visibility. If you’re wearing polarized sunglasses and looking at the windshield from the outside, you might see a bit of rainbowing—that’s normal and just a side effect of the polarization.
What maintenance is required?
We recommend using XPEL WPF Restore. It boosts the film’s hydrophobic properties and makes the surface slicker, which helps with water beading and overall clarity. For the best results, follow the maintenance guidelines that come with the film.
XPEL Window tint
Should I put window tint on my car?
Window tint does more than just look good. It blocks UV rays, cuts down heat, adds privacy, and helps protect your interior from fading and cracking. Plus, it gives your ride a cleaner, more finished look.
Does window tint reduce hear in my car?
Definitely. XPEL’s window films are built to block UV and infrared rays, which means less heat getting through your glass. If you want the best performance, go with ceramic film. It offers the highest heat rejection and keeps your car noticeably cooler.
What is the warranty on window film?
Yes! XPEL window films come with a lifetime warranty. It covers things like peeling, cracking, fading, and discoloration. So once it’s on, you’re covered for the long haul.
What is meant by VLT?
VLT stands for Visible Light Transmission. It’s the percentage of light that gets through the window film. The lower the number, the darker the tint, so something like 5% is much darker than 35%.
What is Ceramic Window Tint?
Ceramic tint is a high-performance film that blocks heat, UV rays, and infrared light, all without messing with visibility. It doesn’t have metal or dye like traditional tint, so it won’t fade or interfere with signals. If you want serious protection and comfort, ceramic is the way to go.
Carpro ceramic coatings
Wil ceramic coatings prevent rock chips?
No. Ceramic coatings won’t stop rock chips. They add a slick, protective layer that helps with things like UV damage, chemical stains, and light scratches, but they don’t have the thickness or impact resistance to handle flying debris. If you’re looking to protect against rock chips, Paint Protection Film (PPF) is the better option.
How long do I wait before washing my car with soap?
Wait at least 5 days before washing your car with soap after a ceramic coating is applied. This gives the coating enough time to fully cure and bond to the paint. During that first week, avoid getting it wet if you can and definitely skip automatic car washes. After the cure period, hand washing with a pH-neutral soap is the safest way to clean it.
How long will my coating last?
The lifespan of any ceramic coating is all about environment and how you care for your vehicle. Proper washing and proper maintenance will make sure your coating lasts as long as possible. Improper, or no maintenance will severely reduce the lifespan of any coating. CQuartz Professional can last up to 10 years under ideal conditions.
Water repellency has faded. Is my coating dead?
Over time, contaminants like brake dust and road grime can cling to the surface and dull the coating. To clean it up, use Iron X. It breaks down and removes those built-up particles without hurting the coating. After that, apply CarPro Reload. It’s a spray-on, wipe-off topper that refreshes the hydrophobic layer and adds a little extra protection. It’s water-based but still packed with SiOâ‚‚, so it can even help patch up minor wear in the coating.
Should I still go to drive through car washes?
Not if you care about your paint. Most drive-through car washes use rough, dirty brushes that can leave swirl marks and fine scratches, even on coated vehicles. If you want to keep that finish looking sharp, stick to hand washing or touchless options.
Paint correction
What is paint correction?
Paint correction is a multi-stage polishing process that removes scratches, swirl marks, stains, and other defects from your clear coat. Unlike quick fixes that just fill in flaws temporarily, true paint correction actually cuts them out.
We start with a heavy-cut compound to knock down deeper defects. This stage does the heavy lifting, but it leaves behind some haze. Then we follow it up with a medium polish, and finish with a final pass to bring out maximum clarity and gloss. That full process gets your paint as close to perfect as it can get.
Once corrected, it’s the ideal time to protect the finish. We recommend topping it with our CQuartz Pro ceramic coating for long-term durability, deep gloss, and easy maintenance.
Does my new car need paint protection?
Not always. But it’s more common than you’d think. Even brand-new cars go through a lot before they reach you. They’ve been touched by factory workers, loaded onto ships, trains, and transport trucks, then test driven and washed by dealership staff, often without any protection on the paint.
By the time it lands in your driveway, there’s a good chance it’s picked up swirl marks, light scratches, or other defects. A proper paint correction can clean that up and bring the finish to where it should be. Then we lock it in with ceramic or PPF for long-term protection.
Does paint correction fix rock chips?
No it doesn’t fit rock chips. Paint correction works with the clear coat that’s already there, polishing out defects to restore depth and clarity. If you need actual paint touch-ups for chips or deeper damage, that’s a separate service.
Vinyl wraps and decals
How much are car wraps?
Wrap pricing depends on the vehicle size, the type of material, color, design, and how complex the job is. A full color change wrap for a smaller car usually starts around $2500 + tax, while high-end finishes like chrome can go up to $15000 + tax. If you’re looking at commercial graphics, for something like a van or SUV, you’re typically in the $3,000 + tax range. For an exact quote, we’ll need to see the vehicle and discuss the details.
Can you print my designs for me?
Yes we can! Ideally you will want to have your designs in a vector format for best results when resizing. If you like we can help with that. Pricing largely depends on size and how many of a decal or logo you are wanting. The more you order the less it generally cost
Are there cheaper wraps out there?
Yes, but part of the reason they are cheaper is because they do not last as long, and they are more difficult to install and remove. High end films like Avery Dennison SW900 usually has a 5 year horizontal warranty and a 2 year vertical warranty. Wraps can most certainly last longer than this, that is mostly how it is maintained. Ceramic coatings will help protect the coating from UV damage as well.
Are there limitations on what can be wrapped?
Yes there are. Wheels can be wrapped but will not last. Grilles can be wrapped but with the time it takes you will spend less to paint it. If the grille is chrome every rock chip will show underneath and ruin your wrap. Already damaged surfaces should not be wrapped as they have a good chance of causing even more damage. Vinyl wraps are held on my adhesive and can pull and remove clear coat and paint on already damaged surfaces.
